I loved this book! Merkel's short stories are gripping, action-packed, adventures that keep you on the edge of your seat. He packs so much punch into such small novellas. It is so convenient having the first 3 books combined in this Omnibus, no waiting for the next one to get here, I can dive right into Rat, and Chrysix. Honestly the world he creates is unlike any I have ever envisioned. These books are fast paced but filled with action, I highly recommend picking up The Fall Gauntlet series.

Creative blend of fantasy and sci-fi. Fast paced with believable characters kept me turning pages. With the significance of animal totems, I was reminded of Richard Adams works.
